Sophy’s six week course starts on Fridays 4:15-5:15 pm from 24th February – 30th March 2012

At this time of year gardeners are busy digging, looking through seed catalogues and deciding what to plant.
But how much attention do they give their bodies, which will be putting into action their ideas for this year's crop?
Gardening is recognised as a great way to get fit - on a level with walking, cycling, swimming and weight training.
But it can also lead to back and knee pain. A new specialist Pilates course for gardeners will be held at Pure Moves from Friday 24 February:
"As a garden lover and Pilates teacher I realised most of my clients would come into class around February / March saying they have such back ache…. after digging for several hours, so I was inspired to help them."
The 6 sessions will help prevent injury and use gardening as a workout. It will teach a few simple techniques including warming up and warming down and it should help with stretching and strengthening the muscles used when gardening. It should help prepare your body to be fit to garden after the winter months
